Super Paper Mario Day
April 9, 2007 claimed by Trip42
Super Paper Mario takes aspects of the classic side scrolling Mario games, adds some RPG elements, and "paper" styled graphics to make what looks like an awesome game.

This game sort of popped out of no where, like Twilight Princess it was originally intended to be a GameCube title, but was pushed back and given the Wii treatment.

I'll be picking this up on April 9th.

I finally beat this game. Overall it was decent. The ability to flip into 3D is pretty cool and allows for some really interesting things. I actually found parts of the game difficult, but mainly because of trouble navigating the various levels (flipping provides lots of different ways through a level).

The dialog is wordy at parts.

After beating the game it looks like there is still a lot to do. I'm not sure if I'll pick it up to continue playing or not.

I give it a 7 out of 10.

So, I've made it to world 7 now. I'm getting a little tired of this game. It's an ok game, but I don't like that it mostly doesn't take place in the Mario Universe. And a lot of the stages like the space stage, and the cloud stages make it difficult to tell where your at within the stage.

I've made it to level 4-3, and so far I really hate world 4. It's this weird outer space level. Kind of like Gradius/R-Type thing where you fly mario around and shoot stuff. The stages have no design really, just a star background and you're forced to go through mazes where it's hard to track your progress. So thumbs up to worlds 1, 2, and 3. Thumbs down to world 4. More to come later.

So, I got this game. It's pretty good. Once you get into one of the main worlds (e.g. 1-x, 2-x, 3-x, etc.) the game rocks. It seems to be a bit slow between worlds while running around the games main hub-town "Flipside". But it's still freaking cool.

I'm about half way through right now, I'll post a final review once I finish.
